| 2014 National Train Day - New London Union Station |
A few years ago, the HO scale contingent of the club participated in Amtrak's National Train Day. We set up a 12'x20' display inside the New London train station lobby which was open to the public from 9 am to 3 pm. The event wasn't well publicized so the crowds were a little light. However, many club members stopped by and helped with the layout. The HO scale Young Building module made it's second appearance (and what would turn out to be its final appearance) at the show.
This year, our G scale group will be setting up a layout at the New Haven Union Station as part of the National Train Day events on May 14, 2016. Their layout will be in the under ground tunnel on the way out to the platforms. Several other club's will most likely be in attendance as well with layouts setup upstairs in the lobby.
